Rick and Deb Teeny's Journey with Transform African Ministries.

Rick and Deb during service at The City Church

We met Alex when he was attending Multnomah Bible College (now Multnomah University) and started attending Crossroads Church in Portland, Oregon. Alex did his ministry internship at Crossroads and we got to know Alex and his wife Faith through that. We started supporting the ministry in 2012 by helping Alex make the connection to speak on a Christian radio talk show in order to share about the ministry and how the Lord was leading to create Spiritual, Social and Economic Transformation in Uganda through Transform African Ministries. Of course, Spiritual Transformation is most important, as our hearts are changed by Christ and He saves us from our sin, creates a new heart in us, and leads us in this life every day and for all eternity.  We do NOT believe in a prosperity gospel, that is not  taught in Scripture, and is not the goal of following Christ. But we do believe that Social and Economic change is possible WHEN WE APPLY GOD’SBIBLICAL PRINCIPLES and interact with individuals in personal and professional ways that honor our Lord and help neighbors… our brothers and sisters. God’s Word is living and active and able to change our hearts and our lives as we surrender to Him.

We have supported Transform African Ministries over the years because we believe that everything we have comes from our Creator and Lord and that He calls us to be His hands and feet, for His Great Glory. All resources are His and we are called to be good stewards in ways that will have an ETERNAL impact for His Kingdom.

We have seen Transform African Ministries work to impact its community through The City Church Luzira (teaching the Word of God and bringing new believers into the body of Christ), the school (providing children an education and sharing God’s love), the Hope House (helping and equipping young women for life), and the Fit 4 Life program (teaching young entrepreneurs Godly Business Principles).

We visited Uganda in January 2023 and were able to see these ministries first hand, and to meet individuals whose lives had been impacted by the Lord through these ministries.

We thank God for all that He is doing, here in the US, in Uganda, and across the world.  Our Father is at work, in lands near and far, bringing the lost to Salvation through His Son Jesus, and changing lives through the Power of the Holy Spirit as we surrender to Him daily and follow Him faithfully by God’s grace.  Praise God for all He is doing.  Someday we will rejoice together in Glory.  Hallelujah.  Praise our Great King!
